While riding a jeep on my way to Washington, I just remembered how weird it is that I like the number 27 (actually I also like number 3, 9 and 31). I like these numbers because they are perfect. Perfect in a way that they are not exact (or is the term "even" more appropriate?). There is a sense of randomness (if there is such word), a sense of being so real -- kumbaga sa picture may pagka-stolen shot! hehe

Then, I thought of my favorite phrases. For example, "never too far" from Maria Carrey's song is one of them. Another one is "such is life" which I heard from an episode in CSI Las Vegas (well, pwede na din pala s'yang sentence).

I also have favorite punctuation marks. Like the apostrophe (') and the ellipsis (...). Obvious naman sa titles ng entry di ba?

Weird ko pala.

But then, mas weird si Maria in the movie The Sound of Music. Kasi, eto mga favorites nya.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

What's so likeable about brown paper packages tied up with strings? Sabagay, choice nya yun eh. Sabi nga sa isa sa mga favorite questions/answers ko, "why not?"

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... one old love she can imagine going back to ...and one who reminds her how far she has come...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... a youth she's content to leave behind...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling it in her old age...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... a set of screwdrivers, cordless drill, and a blacklace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE... a feeling of control over her destiny...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... how to fall in love without losing herself...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.... how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship... and how to change a tire!!!!!!!

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... when to try harder... and when to walk away...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... that she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.... that her childhood may not have been perfect... but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... whom she can trust, whom she can't, and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... where to go... be it to her bestfriend's kitchen table... or a charming inn in the woods... when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... what she can and can't accomplish in a day... a month... and a year...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD UNDERSTAND... the power of subtlety... the power of bringing down her defenses... because only when she is secure with herself and her feminity can she launch a thousand ships... can she be truly beautiful...

to blog or not to blog...

I've decided to create my blog account, finally.

And it says,

A blog is your easy-to-use web site, where you can quickly post thoughts, interact with people, and more. All for FREE.

And I say, not quite. Not that easy. Because I need to decide on something for each step to create this account:

  • what username/pword should i use?
  • what title?
  • should I allow others to see this or that information?
  • what template? what color?

After the three "easy" steps, I'm ready to post or should I say blog. Again, decisions..

  • what title?
  • what font?
  • size?
  • bold, italic, etc?
  • what language should i use? (it's a good thing i only know 2! or it could be a lot more difficult)

So much for my first post. And I haven't really figured out the proper way to pronounce "blog." Is it blag or blog? blahg or blohg? All these questions make me hungry. To blog or not to blog? Whatever. Sometimes I think too much. But right now, all I can think of is dinner.
