get found, kid!

The other day I was reading another one of Fulghum's essays. It was about a kid who is good at hide-and-seek. He always hid too well.

"As I write this, the neighborhood game goes on, and there is a kid under a pile of leaves in the yard just under my window. He has been out there a long time now, and everybody else is found and they are about to give up on him over at the base. I considered going out to the base and telling them where he is hiding. And I thought about setting the leaves on fire to drive him out. Finally, I just yelled, “GET FOUND KID! out the window. And I think I just scared him. It’s real hard to know how to be helpful sometimes.

A man I know found out last year that he had terminal cancer. He was a doctor and knew about dying and he didn’t want his family and his friends to suffer through that with him, so he kept it a secret. And he died. Everybody said how brave he was to bear his suffering in silence and not tell everybody… but privately his family and friends said how angry they were that he didn’t need them, didn’t trust their strength. And it hurt that he didn’t say good-bye.

He hid too well. Getting found would have kept him in the game. Hide-and-seek, grown-up style. Wanting to hide. Needing to be sought. And confused about being found. “I don’t want anyone to know.” (He said) “What will people think?” “I don’t want to bother anyone.”

Everybody is hiding together...and pretty soon somebody laughs, and everybody gets found.

Better than hide-and-seek, I like the game of Sardines. In Sardines the person who is IT goes and hides and everybody goes looking for him. When you find him, you get in with him and hide with him…and pretty soon, someone laughs and everybody gets found."

Para makuha yun certificate, dapat makapag-perform kami ng isang beses in front of an audience -- either sa Museo Pambata o sa National Library. Wala pang schedule kung kelan.

ngayon lang ako ulit nakapagbasa na blogs.

una, dahil busy. ewan ko ba kung sino nagpa-uso nito sa office, pero ito ang trend ngaun.

pangalawa, naka-block na dn ang karamihan as blogs. buti na lang may ThomsonOne Workstation! (pero nun isang araw, nadiscover ko na pwd na ulit ako gumamit ng YM! yey!)

pangatlo, tinatamad ako magsulat.

pakiramdam ko ang dami kong kwento pero alam kong hindi dapat i-post dito yun iba. may mga bago din akong nakilala at kikilalanin.

may 2 bagong adventures din ako sa mga susunod na araw. sa weekend na yun isa. tapos sa May naman yun isa pa ulit.

ikkwento ko na lang pag nngayari na.

oo nga pala, hindi ko pa napo-post yun ibang pictures sa adventure race (panis na yun kwento na yun) kasi ndi ko pa naa-upload yun ibang pix.

sana sipagin ako sa mga susunod na araw. at sana magka-oras para gawin kapag sinipag.

adventure race

mahirap pala pag mag-isa lang sa Sat shift, nakakapagod mag-email. buti tapos na ko sa mga emails from last night at sana wala ng dumating at tumawag pa.

kaya eto, blog muna. sa kasamaang palad, hindi naka-open ang PC kung saan nakashare ang pix kaya ito lang muna ang mapo-post ko.


First Event -- well, pabalik na kami nito. we were supposed to swim pero naging walk (to conserve energy na rin daw). i like this picture


Second Event (Egg Hunt) -- ito talaga ang deciding factor. ang hirap! ang init! frustrating! na-sand burnt ang knees and elbows ko dito. we were about to give up pero biglang na-feel ko na may something hard akong nahawakan.


Fifth Event ata ito -- takbo, lundag at gapang lang

next time na yun ibang pix. oo nga pala, we finished 4th place. not bad. :)

yey

i'm back. late pa ko kahit nagtaxi ako kanina. kasi naman may nakaharang na truck sa may kanto. nasiraan ata.

pero ok lang kasi pagdating ko, nagulat ako na bago na ang PC ko. yey! bago din naman yun isa.. kaya lang, may problem kasi yun kaya nagha-hang.

dahil dun, pinalitan sya. pero ganun pa din. mas less nga lang ang pagha-hang nun ipinalit. (wow, gumamit ako ng "mas" para i-describe ang "less". hindi ata describe ang tamang term. basta yun. hehe)

in 1 year and 8 months, pang-5 na to. sana ma-inspire ako magwork ng bagong PC.

My sister-in-law was putting the rice grains scattered on the floor back to the box where the bird is.

Yeyen: 'Waaag!!!! Ano ka ba ba, Tita? Mamamatay yun ibon, may germs na yan..

[sasabihin ko sana, wala pa namang 2 minutes. hehe]

Yeyen gets a whole bar of chocolate from the ref.

Me: Sabi ng Daddy mo, hati kayo ng ate mo. Hatiin mo na ngayon para wala ng away.

[Yeyen counts the blocks]

Me: Ilan?
Yeyen: 14
Me: O, ilan ang one-half? Hatiin mo na..

[ Yeyen hands over the chocolates to her Ate]

Kylie: Akala ko ba 14? Bakit 6 lang to?

[We all look at Yeyen and tells her, "Ang kalahati tig-7. Hindi 6 sa Ate mo tapos 8 sa yo."]

napakinggan ko kagabi yun segment na yan sa Magic. natawa ako sa mga sagot ng ina ni moe. hahaha

nway, gusto kong kumanta. yun bigay todo kaya lang ang weird naman kung bigla ko na lang gawin yun kaya eto, ipo-post ko na lang.

bitin..

kahapon, wala akong magawa kaya tumingin ako ng mapapanood sa mga shared PC's. nakita ko yun "How I Met Your Mother".

tapos ko na yun 13 episodes. yun lang kasi ang meron. nakaka-curious kung sino yun mother sa series! (sana si Robin)

anyway, nakakaali din yun cast. funny.

oh well, got to go. sana may magdagdag nun remaining season 1 episodes. pati na din nun season 2 ng Prison Break (sobrang bitin din yun naka-share).

Napanood ko kanina yan (Simon Birch) sa Star Movies. Naiyak na naman ako.

After ng movie, pumunta ako sa mall para bumili ng pasta at cooking oil pati gatas ni James. Nakalimutan ko bumili ng cheese! Napagalitan pa ko ng nanay ko dahil ayaw ko daw kasi ilista kanina.

Pagdating ko ulit dito, nag-computer sandali tapos nag-dinner. Nanood ng tv sandali tapos nag-online dahil may chat session kami ni Maaike (taga-Nabuur).

Ang dami ko na kapalpakan sa volunteer work na yun. Buti medyo lumilinaw na ang mga bagay bagay. Natapos ko na din yun mga pinapagawa nya.

Naghihintay ako mag-12am. Ewan ko kung bakit. hehe

Dapat matulog na ko dahil 6am ako magma-mass. Ayoko sa 730am kasi madaming tao na kakilala ko (nasa Nueva ako ngayon) at baka batiin nila ko. Dahil malamang babanggitin sa misa na bday ko. Malabo ba? Basta, may pagka-anti social ako e. hehe

I got to see my dormmates last night at Oyster Boy in Araneta Center. I'm not really close to them except for My and Reg because the 3 of us shared the same unit. Nevertheless, it was great to see them again after almost 2 years.
