ang tagal na pala???

wala pa din kami kuryente since Thursday. ang sabi ni ate lorns, baka Tuesday pa daw magkaroon. huwaaat??? tama ba naman yan.

busy din ang linya ng Meralco kaya hindi ko ma-confirm.

nandito ako sa office ngayon dahil kailangan ko gumawa ng paper for school. at syempre dahil ayoko gumawa kahit dapat ko na talagang gawin yun, naisip kong bisitahin ang blog ko.

halos 3 buwan na pala akong walang updates! at ganun katagal na din ako hindi nagbabasa ng blog ng kahit na sino. busy-busyhan..

buti natatandaan ko pa yun login ko d2 sa blogger. hehe

anyway, ano ba magandang kwento?

hmm.. ayun, lilipat na ako ng work sa October 18. well, hindi ibang company. ibang team lang at part pa din naman sya ng group ko ngaun. so same people pa dn ang kasama, ibang work nga lang.

SANA OCTOBER 13 NA!!!! para tapos na yun mga papers na to! para pwd na ulit ako yayain anytime, anywhere..

o ayan, may update na kahit papaano.

-- 1 month. wala pa naman masyado requirements. hmm.. mali pala, ndi ko pa lang pala sinisimulan. but i've been reading the articles, etc. medyo nauuna pa nga ata ako ng kaunti. the problem is, ndi ko masyado naiintindihan! lagot

walang pasok last Thursday kasi may bagyo. ngaun lng ulit ako affected ng mga ganyang pangyayari sa loob ng 2 years. ksi lagi kami may pasok d2 sa office pati holidays.

-- ano ba? once a month na lang ako nakakauwi ngaun e. pero ok naman, medyo madalas namana ako magtext at tumawag lately. saka, ninang is currently in davao visiting mel and his family. so yun, medyo madalas dn sila magtext sa kin to update and ask questions. example: pano magpa-rebook ng flight? pano mag-email ng pictures?

oo nga pala, mommy almost won sa mega lotto. she got 5 out of the 6 numbers. so, i'm still far from being kidnapped. hehe sayang nga e, pero nakaka-excite pa din. yun ang masarap e, yun you're almost there and you realize that's it's really possible.

kaya ako, tataya na dn ako sa lotto. haha

back to school

Yep. I'm back in school.



If you ask me why, I'm sorry but I can't give you a definite answer. It's a mixture of I'm-a-little-bored and Maybe-I've-always-wanted-to-do-this and I'm-just-trying-to-figure-out-if-this-will-work-for-me, etc etc.

Anyway, I'm taking 3 classes this sem in UP Dil. If everything goes out well, I can finish the Certificate in Professional Education Program in 1 year. My classes would be every Monday and Thursday (4 - 830pm).

Last Thursday was my first day in school. Good thing that Rowick and I are classmates (she graduated there) because I feel like a freshman (meaning: lost).

We met Christopher at McDo Quezon Ave after class. As we were about to finish eating, I realized I left something in the classroom (@#$%^&!!!). So we went back --Rowick and I rode on a jeepney while Christopher followed us on his motorbike.

The rooms were already closed so we didn't get the chance to check if the lost item was there. I went back the following morning and still I'm unable to find it (@#$%^& talaga!!!). I'll post more about this next time.

Going back, we needed to go home since it's already gettin late. This time, the 3 of us rode the motorbike. I was hesitant to do so because it's just plain dangerous. But what the heck, it's fun!

There were only 2 helmets so we girls get to wear 1 each. I kept telling C to be careful because R and I wants to get married someday. And its unfair that he is the only one to experience it.

I was still able to write this post, so obviously we got home safely that night. R's place in only in Project 6 so C and I had to travel all the way from Visayas Ave to Makati.

It started to rain half-way of the trip. But C has raincoats so it wasn't a problem. The ride was fun but a little scary when buses and cars pass by our little motorbike left and right. And your butt hurts after.

It was a great expereince but I'm not sure if I'd do it again.

BBBS

On May 13 – 14, 2006, 68 volunteers brought up 535 sets of school supplies to the children of Lacub, Abra, Cordillera Autonomous Region as part of the BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER (BBBS) outreach project.

2 buses left the Cubao terminal at 830pm (Friday) heading to Bangued, Abra. We arrived at around 5am and quickly ate our breakfast and then transferred our backpacks and the school supplies to the 3 jeepneys.



The manong drivers ate their breakfast halfway of the trip. We had our pictures taken during this time.



After 4 hours of the dusty and bumpy (no kidding) jeepney ride, we reached the school where we are staying.



Lacub is a huge town -- around 30 000 hectares with only 30 000 people. They had to walk long distances to go go from one place to another, especially the children going to schools.

This becomes a problem during the rainy season because the dirt roads become muddy and its difficult to walk up or down.

An hour later, we're off to the mountains..



















It took us around 6-7 hours to go up Mt. Inuman and back to the school.

There was dinner and a cultural night program. Mostly, dancing and eating. Each of us were asked to join the group dance and the courtship dance. It was a bit embarassing to dance with the locals but after a while all of us started to enjoy the expereince.

Their local rice wine was not for me, though. I didn't like the taste.







The following day's call time was 5am. Tiredas we were, we all got up as soon as they start "banging" the doors.

There was a program for the kids -- games, singing, dancing. Then, we taught them how to make pin wheels.

get found, kid!

The other day I was reading another one of Fulghum's essays. It was about a kid who is good at hide-and-seek. He always hid too well.

"As I write this, the neighborhood game goes on, and there is a kid under a pile of leaves in the yard just under my window. He has been out there a long time now, and everybody else is found and they are about to give up on him over at the base. I considered going out to the base and telling them where he is hiding. And I thought about setting the leaves on fire to drive him out. Finally, I just yelled, “GET FOUND KID! out the window. And I think I just scared him. It’s real hard to know how to be helpful sometimes.

A man I know found out last year that he had terminal cancer. He was a doctor and knew about dying and he didn’t want his family and his friends to suffer through that with him, so he kept it a secret. And he died. Everybody said how brave he was to bear his suffering in silence and not tell everybody… but privately his family and friends said how angry they were that he didn’t need them, didn’t trust their strength. And it hurt that he didn’t say good-bye.

He hid too well. Getting found would have kept him in the game. Hide-and-seek, grown-up style. Wanting to hide. Needing to be sought. And confused about being found. “I don’t want anyone to know.” (He said) “What will people think?” “I don’t want to bother anyone.”

Everybody is hiding together...and pretty soon somebody laughs, and everybody gets found.

Better than hide-and-seek, I like the game of Sardines. In Sardines the person who is IT goes and hides and everybody goes looking for him. When you find him, you get in with him and hide with him…and pretty soon, someone laughs and everybody gets found."

mahirap pala pag mag-isa lang sa Sat shift, nakakapagod mag-email. buti tapos na ko sa mga emails from last night at sana wala ng dumating at tumawag pa.

kaya eto, blog muna. sa kasamaang palad, hindi naka-open ang PC kung saan nakashare ang pix kaya ito lang muna ang mapo-post ko.


First Event -- well, pabalik na kami nito. we were supposed to swim pero naging walk (to conserve energy na rin daw). i like this picture


Second Event (Egg Hunt) -- ito talaga ang deciding factor. ang hirap! ang init! frustrating! na-sand burnt ang knees and elbows ko dito. we were about to give up pero biglang na-feel ko na may something hard akong nahawakan.


Fifth Event ata ito -- takbo, lundag at gapang lang

i'm back. late pa ko kahit nagtaxi ako kanina. kasi naman may nakaharang na truck sa may kanto. nasiraan ata.

pero ok lang kasi pagdating ko, nagulat ako na bago na ang PC ko. yey! bago din naman yun isa.. kaya lang, may problem kasi yun kaya nagha-hang.

dahil dun, pinalitan sya. pero ganun pa din. mas less nga lang ang pagha-hang nun ipinalit. (wow, gumamit ako ng "mas" para i-describe ang "less". hindi ata describe ang tamang term. basta yun. hehe)

kahapon, wala akong magawa kaya tumingin ako ng mapapanood sa mga shared PC's. nakita ko yun "How I Met Your Mother".

anyway, nakakaali din yun cast. funny.
